SLANG
IN
THE UK TODAY
NEW FOR
2020!
The English language is full of phrases used on a daily basis which don't translate very well into other languages. This causes non-native speakers to not understand what is being said.
This talk looks at slang phrases which have survived the test of time and are still being used today. This is an interesting and funny talk.
For example:
"On it like a
car bonnet"
Meaning: Said when someone has a situation under control.
Example: Peter - "Have you sorted out the catering for the party?" Stuart - "I'm on it like a car bonnet."
