This talk looks at the existence of "catchphrases" which are expressions that come from famous people, films, adverts, TV shows, etc.. and are then repeated in everyday language to give an extra meaning to the phrase or sentence.

Catchphrases appear EVERYWHERE in the English language and as teachers are nowadays opting to use more and more authentic material, it is inevitable that they are going to come across catchphrases on a very regular basis.
